Studying at the IAO means studying at your own tempo. The IAO offers several quality trainings which can result in several diplomas at the end (consult our training plan).
For people with a medical background we offer a part-time course that consists of 9 sessions a year during 5 years. Every session within a module is built on a theoretical base from which the practical techniques and treatment strategies depart. During these 5 years students will get 8 sessions clinical work and exams.
In each module, a certain zone of the body is treated completely, theoretically and practically. Each module is a real entity. The IAO pays a lot of attention to the integration of the different parts of the training, from the start of the training. This integration of thinking and treating, which is called holism, should be starting from the beginning.
As from the fourth year, students may start the Supplementary Master Modules, which means that 5 years of modular courses does not only lead to a DO diploma, but also to a Master of Science in Osteopathy.
